- Puan: A Puan is their most important piece of clothing. A Puan is a Versatile and wrap-around skirt. They are generally rectangular in shape with measurements of around 45 to 48 inches in width and 36 inches in length. They are designed to be snug around their waist. The prices of these garments are determined according to the intricate craftsmanship present on the garment.
- Puanchei: Puan is a highly celebrated variation of Puan. It is quite festive attire for them. It is worn specifically to perform dance forms like Cheraw. Cheraw is a kind of bamboo dance. It features a vibrant three-panel design with fierce red, deep black, and crisp whites on it. The dress is quite important for weddings and various cultural ceremonies, like a cultural Tiara.
Generally, Puanchei is paired with Kawrchei. A Kawrchei is a tailored and handmade blouse that is created with comfortable fabric like cotton.
- Ngotekherh: It is a sleek, lightweight fabric that has black and white stripes on it.
- Hmaram: It is an earthy-toned, smaller wrap skirt. It is generally worn by older women for daily wear.

Opposite to the women’s clothing in Mizoram, Men’s clothing is more about comfort, simplicity and elegance. The lower garment comprises a single piece of cloth, which is about 7 feet long and 5 feet wide, wrapped around the waist just like a lungi.
This lower garment is generally paired with a Kawrchei, which is a shirt or coat. Primarily, their traditional coat is white in color, and it is differentiated by horizontal bands of black and red on it. Also, it comprises intricate tribal motifs.
During the winter months, they used to wear a turban or a Pagri as well.
